This National Standard of Canada has been reviewed and adopted for Canadian use by the CGSB Committee on Metrology - Terminology and OIML. It is identical in content and in layout, without editorial changes, with the ISO document, International vocabulary of basic and general terms in metrology, published in 1993.
Future editions of the international document will be reviewed for adoption as new editions to this standard. The Foreword and Explanatory Notes to the original international document have been retained to identify the depth of coverage.
This National Standard of Canada contributes to the study and practice of metrology nationally and internationally. As well, it supports the establishment of a Canadian National Measurement system.
